The Rodent Surgical Monitor oX (RSM oX) is an advanced surgical monitoring and vital signs platform, that is enhanced with patent-pending integrated pulse oximetry. Designed for small animal models such as mice, rats, bats, and toads, the RSM oX provides comprehensive physiological tracking. The system includes a small animal warming platform paired with a large, easy-to-read monitor. This streamlined visual access supports smoother procedures, helping researchers maintain focus and respond promptly during fine surgical work.

INTEGRATED PULSE OXIMETRY: RELIABLE, REPRODUCIBLE, READY

The RSM oX features novel optical sensors embedded directly into the ECG contact electrodes—enabling continuous SpO₂ monitoring from the paw without external clips. This innovation eliminates common issues like sensor misplacement, fur interference, or site preparation.

As a new solution, the system is being welcomed, especially as pulse oximetry is increasingly mandated in surgical, medical, and even preclinical settings for its critical role in monitoring oxygen saturation and detecting complications.

There is an option to display pulse oximetry on two channels – add the RSM Pulse Ox Option for capturing data using a sensor clip.

The non-invasive heated surgical platform monitors

ECG, heart rate, respiration, core body temperature, and oxygen saturation in real time—enabling uninterrupted physiological tracking during extended procedures or recovery phases.

This makes the RSM oX a powerful tool for studies of disease progression or therapeutic interventions and also for supporting serial measurements in the same animals with minimal stress and high data consistency
